I was born and raised in Mexico City, but spent a large chunk of my childhood in southern Florida. This made me feel culturally challenged when I first moved back to Mexico. But, over the years, my multi-cultural approach has proven to be very useful. I can see issues from many different points of view.
Three years ago I moved to Vancouver to study a master’s degree in journalism at the University of British Columbia. My main areas of interest tended to be culture and urban minorities. But in recent years I have gravitated towards stories related to the environment and migrant issues in both Canada and Mexico.
